For thousands of years the Coyas people have raised llama and sheep on the arid high plateau of La Puna in Northern Argentina. It is a way of life steeped in cultural traditions and ancient knowledge that perseveres with the help of the Warmi Sarajsunqo Association.
The benefits of llama fleece are abundant. Unlike wool, it is hypo-allergenic, easy to clean, less tendency to shrink and has a higher thermal capacity.

Warmi Sarajsunqo means ‘perservering women’ in the Quechua language. The Warmi Sarajsunqo Association works towards overcoming poverty and lack of opportunities in the Puna region whilst enabling the region to preserve it’s rich cultural heritage, traditional way of life and ancient pride. In 2013 the Association and a group of philanthropist entrepreneurs acquired a weaving mill in Jujuy, Argentina. 100% of this mills profits goes back to the La Puna region and has made a valuable social impact.
